FACE AND NECK Lift

face-surgery-banner

A face lift, technically known as rhytidectomy, is a surgical procedure which intends to remove excess fat, tighten underlying muscles, and reposition the skin on your face and neck. A face lift can restore the lost facial contour and definition to the face by returning the support layer to its original position.

Sun exposure, weight fluctuation and the natural ageing process contributes to slacker facial skin which results in wrinkles and jowls. The muscles of the neck can loosen as well, causing you to look years older than you are.

A facelift is designed to improve the visible signs of ageing. It will not stop the ageing process but can improve the overall appearance of the face. Patients between the ages of 40 and 70 years of age are suitable candidates for a face lift.

A facelift starts with incisions made along the hairline, along the ear and around the earlobe. Excess skin is lifted and the underlying muscles are tightened and secured with sutures.

Depending on the condition of your skin and your desired results, the procedure may take up to three hours. Side effects may include swelling, numbness, bruising, and tightness, but most patients report little pain and only minor discomfort. This procedure can be combined with other surgery such as blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) or a brow lift for optimal results.

Neck lift surgery is individual for each person and the outcome of surgery is dependent on the degree of ageing, skin quality and lifestyle.

As a person ages, the skin and muscles of the face and neck begin to lose tone and elasticity. A neck lift is a surgical procedure where excess fat is removed, underlying muscles are tightened, and the skin on your neck and lower face is repositioned.

A neck lift can restore the lost contour and definition of the neck by returning the support structure to its original position.

Many people between the age of 40 and 65 will contemplate the rejuvenation a neck lift or facelift can provide.

A neck lift rejuvenates the neck and provides a more defined youthful appearance but can not fully reverse or stop the process of ageing.

It can be performed alone or in conjunction with other procedures such as facelift, eyelid surgery and brow lift.
